District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office

District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office is implementing various welfare schemes for the educational and economic upliftment of the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities and Minorities. To achieve educational advancement, the Government provides hostel facilities, scholarships, incentives, bi-cycles, distribution of sewing machines, iron boxes and loans for self employment through the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation and the Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation, for promoting livelihood opportunities of the poor of these communities. Further, the Government also provides financial assistance pension to Ulemas.
